Sisheng Hu

Sisheng (Robin) Hu, 88, of Queens, New York, passed away on November 26th in New York, USA. Sisheng was born on October 9, 1932 in Shanghai, China, graduated from Huadong News Institute and went on to become a well-respected and renowned reporter, journalist and writer. His career spanned over 60 years both in China and the US. During his early career, he was stationed as a journalist correspondent in Poland, Russia and many Eastern bloc countries. He won numerous awards for his reporting work and books. Sisheng is survived by daughter Ping Hu and her husband Peter Wen, brother Siyi Hu and sister Sijian Hu. Sisheng was predeceased by parents Shuyi and Xiufang Hu, and brother Silu Hu and sister Sicui Hu. A private service was held on November 30, 2020. 华裔作家胡思升先生因病于2020年11月26日在纽约逝世，享年88岁。 胡思升先生是中国作家协会会员。他一生从事新闻记者以及写作工作，采访了不同时代的国家领导人以及各界名流，撰写了多篇轰动一时的传记文章，成为一位受人尊敬和敬仰的记者和作家。 胡思升先生祖籍江苏昆山，在上海出生。1949年毕业于华东新闻学院。历任《人民日报》国际版编辑及驻苏联、匈牙利、波兰记者，《报告文学》编辑部副主任，《中华英才》驻美国首席记者等职务。著有报告文学《走向外部世界》、《无悔的追求》、《伟人·名士·丑类》、《谜中谜，人中人》、《修氏理论和它的女主人》。他的报告文学《人海沉浮录》曾获1986年全国优秀畅销书奖，《修氏理论和它的女主人》获《报告文学》杂志“优秀作品奖”。 移民美国后，胡思升先生继续笔耕不缀，著述了多本传记文学如《精彩人生: 美国华裔名人写真集》、《美国奋斗: 赵小兰政坛传奇》及《百人访谈》等。对于自己的写作生涯，胡思升自诩道： 近半个世纪的记者、作家生涯留给我的，除了“文章满纸书生累”，就是学会了冷眼观看世界的圆缺和人海的沉浮。 胡思升先生的离世给至亲好友带来了无限的哀痛，但他的音容笑貌，如同他留在身后的书籍和文字，会让我们永远怀念他。 因疫情原因，胡思升先生的家人于2020年11月30日在纽约为他举行了私人告别仪式。
