Her life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Early Life Angelina was born on July 9th, 1969, to Melvin Green and Agnes Ford being raised in the Bronx. As the only daughter, Angelina was preceded by her brother Paul. She is survived by her brothers James, Jason, Andrew, Christopher, Michael, and Corey. Deeply family oriented, Angelina was a loving caretaker to her family, creating special bonds with those affectionately known as the First Cousins. Additionally, her sense of faith was instilled at an early age when she was baptized Catholic, later going on to also baptize her children here at St. Ann’s Church. Education and Early Career A brilliant student, Angelina graduated from Truman High School with honors. Her passion for learning led her to Iona College, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. While pursuing her education, Angie established a lifelong friendship with Dyrene Brown, going on to become Godmother to her first son. Angelina began working at an automotive parts store where her hard work and dedication quickly propelled her to assistant store manager. While there, Angelina met and began dating her loving husband, Steve. Marriage and Family In July of 1993, Angelina and Steve were married at St. Joesph Church in Yonkers, NY in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Their marriage was a true partnership built on love, filled with mutual respect, unwavering support, and a shared sense of adventure. Together, they raised two wonderful boys: Sterling Alonzo and Spencer Alexander. Sterling was a devoted martial artist and photographer, earning his brown belt in kenpo karate. Spencer studied Computer Science and went on to earn a Bachelor’s in Liberal-Arts from Purchase College. Always present at their school events, sports games, and milestones, Angie always made sure to acknowledge her family’s achievements. Overall, her wisdom and guidance helped shaped them into the remarkable individuals they are today. During this period in her life, her love for travel was awakened as she made it a priority to explore the world, especially with her family. Both Angelina, Steve and their children enjoyed traveling throughout the USA together and creating loving memories as they explored countries such as Aruba, Antigua, Jamaica, Canada, The Bahamas, and Mexico. Career and Contributions Angelina’s career was marked by significant contributions to the field of technology and education. Dedicating 18 years at IBM, Angelina worked as a program administrator where she was immensely proud of her work and achievements for the company. Angelina was revered as a committed team member; her work ethic being showcased by 9 BRAVO awards and the ability to run conferences that brought her to numerous cities across the U.S. and even oversees to Paris, France, which she adored. After a fulfilling career at IBM, Angelina took her talents and returned to school where she completed a certificate in CompTIA A+, numerous state civil exams, and a certificate in assistant teaching. After homing in her skills at the Irvington School District, Angelina sought out a new opportunity where she began working at the White Plains School District as the School Technology Coordinator. There she dedicated her time to ensuring the success of thousands of students and staff by providing technical support and troubleshooting tools. This essential role allowed hundreds of classrooms to stay connected and run smoothly. Her colleagues admired her for her integrity, work ethic, problem-solving skills, and her ability to work in interdisciplinary teams. Legacy Angelina’s legacy extends far beyond her professional and community contributions. She was a woman of great warmth, humor, and compassion. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special and valued. Her children were the light of her life, and she relished every moment spent with them, sharing stories, imparting wisdom, and creating cherished memories. Angelina’s life was a rich tapestry of love, service, and accomplishment. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering faith, and the profound impact she had on everyone she met. Her family and friends find solace in the countless happy memories they shared and the knowledge that her spirit will live on in their hearts. Angelina Garbutt’s story is one of a life well-lived, full of love, generosity, and purpose. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. We love you
