Married for 64 years, she now is reunited with her one and only love, Genson and rejoins her 7 beloved siblings. King was born on July 21, 1922 in Chinatown, NY, the seventh child of Foke and Hong Chu. She lived and worked her entire life within walking distance of where she was born. In 1948, she married Genson Lum. Together they travelled the world, making lifelong friends wherever they went. In addition to travel, King enjoyed knitting, playing mahjong with neighbors, and cooking. She kept a busy social calendar with friends and her many relatives. As the matriarch of the Chu family, she made it a point to attend all family gatherings. King was also a member of the Meihwa community group and the China Institute for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Genson Lum, and by her five brothers Drs. Farn Chu, Fey Chu, Foo Chu, and Foen Chu, and Fong Chu; and two sisters, Gin Li and Toy Lee. The funeral service will be held at Dwyer & Michael Funeral home. Interment will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Westchester County, NY.
