Giuseppe Fiore 97, of Tarrytown, NY passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2018. Giuseppe was born on Jan. 5, 1921 in Corato, Bari, Italy to the late Cataldo and Angela (nee Mongelli) Fiore. He came to the United States in 1961 from Rome. Giuseppe was predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine (nee Olivieri) Fiore in 1992. Also predeceased by his brother Luigi and sisters Filomena and Angela. Giuseppe is survived by his loving children Angela Fiore, Antonio Fiore and Paul (Anita) Fiore as well as his brothers Pasquale and Federico and his brother in law Andrew and Maddalene. He made his career in The Army (Carabinieri) and reached the Grade of “Maresciallo Capo” until his retirement and departure to the U.S. Giuseppe worked for the Italian General Consulate from 1962 until his retirement age. In 1986 with a decree from The Foreign Ministry in Rome and the General Counsel of Italy in New York he was given the honor of serving as Agent & Honorary Counsel in Yonkers, NY for the Citizens living abroad. In 1987 The President of Italy confirmed the title of “Cavaliere Ufficiale” for his work in the Italian Community. In October 1970 he was one of the founders and served as President for the Italian Carabinieri Section of NY. Giuseppe was a member of The Order Sons of Italy in America Lodge #213 in White Plains, NY. He was known for helping out his fellow man in need. He will surely be missed.
