Vincent "Santos" Valentine

Vincent Enrique Santos Valentine, a man of remarkable resilience, passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2024 at the age of 49, after a courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Vincent was born on August 11, 1974, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to Nelly & Jorge Santos. At age 5, he moved to Sleepy Hollow, NY, with his Mother and older sister, Marjorie Santos. In the 1980s, Vincent attended Rock of Salvation church and was part of a small group known as the “Royal Rangers”, where he learned Christ-centered leadership. As a child, Vinny was very curious; he once took apart the radio player to see if a little man lived there. In the early 90s, his leadership, curiosity, and passion for improving life led to his studies in Automotive Technology at Lincoln Tech Institute. Around 1998, Vincent opened a front store with his Mother on Beekman Ave in Sleepy Hollow, NY, called “Gifts Ready to Go.” Making it apparent that his career choice in life was in sales, and he quickly became known for his skills and knowledge in the business world. Mastering his craft and never keeping his knowledge to himself, he mentored others in the field, helping them succeed. His success reflected his performance, winning yearly awards at Raymour and Flanigan’s. He believed that as a God fearing man, having skills was vital not only to be helpful to yourself but, more importantly to others. Vincent, a man of business, was always our “Big Guy,” as his Mother would love to call him. He was not just a brother, but a protector, always ready to shield the ones he loved and show us kindness and softness. He was a kid at heart, so much so that a few years ago, after seeing his nieces and nephews with an Easter basket, he requested that he get one for himself. Decorating a basket for Vinny shows how much we loved playing with him and being silly. With a foundation of Christ-like leadership, Vinny always put God first and then his family. He leaves behind his loving Mother, Nelly Molina, older sister, Marjorie, and younger siblings, Johnny, Johana, Eric, Vanessa, and Thalia. He is an uncle to Christian, Samantha, Noah, Kai, Jahir, Sandra, Mia, Josue, Adriana, and Luna and a great Uncle to Chloe and Hunter. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Maria Rosero, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Always with a smile, his willingness to help his family and friends was limitless. As he once told his mother, “Give me the instructions, and I’ll build you a plane.” His heart was so big that he would never ask or expect anything in return. He radiated light into everyone's lives. His presence in the community was a beacon of hope and inspiration, leaving a permanent mark on all who knew him. Vinny now accompanies his Father, Jorge Santos, and relatives that have passed. This is not goodbye. This is see you later. May you rest in the arms of Jesus Christ. Vinny, We love you, we thank you, and we will miss you.
