Robert Higle

Robert James Higle 2/2/54 – 3/15/25 Robert J. Higle, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow, NY, passed away on March 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses. He was born on February 2, 1954, at the former Tarrytown Hospital to George and Barbara Deverill Higle. Bob was a proud graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School, Class of 1972. In 1980, he began a dedicated career in law enforcement as a police officer for the Village of Irvington. A respected and committed officer, he was an active member of the Irvington P.B.A., serving as both a member and past president, always advocating for his fellow officers and the community he so deeply cared for. Beyond his career, Bob was passionate about giving back. His love for youth sports led him to coach numerous teams, earning recognition as TNT Baseball Coach of the Year in 1996. He was an assistant coach for several travel teams, including the All-Star Mustangs, and was a fixture on the sidelines of the Tarrytown Wolfpack, leaving a lasting impact on countless young athletes. His dedication to his community extended further as he served as a Village of Sleepy Hollow Trustee from 1999 to 2003 under Mayor Phillip Zegarelli. Bob was also a devoted member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Sleepy Hollow, where he served as President, as well as the New York State Eagles Director of Zone 4 for many years. In 2015, he founded and operated MonuMedic Inc., a business he took great pride in until he could no longer meet its physical demands. Above all, Bob cherished his family and loved ones. He is survived by his sister Susan & Bob Wise, former wife, Rita Barron-Higle, their children—Sarah, Robert Jr., and George—his beloved granddaughter, Faith, and his longtime companion, Kathy. Bob will be remembered for his larger-than-life presence, his unwavering leadership, and his deep devotion to his family, friends, and community. His legacy of service, kindness, and generosity will live on in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held at Dwyer and Michaels Funeral Home from 4-8pm, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, with a funeral mass the following day at Church of the Magdalene at 10am. Interment will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery..
