Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Jacqueline D. Edmonds With love and gratitude to God, we celebrate the life of Jacqueline D. Edmonds, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, minister, sister, and friend. Born in Yonkers, New York, Jacqueline was a longtime resident of Westchester County, including White Plains, New York. She was a woman of faith who loved God, loved her family, loved to sing, and had a heart for helping others. Jacqueline was a strong woman with a determined spirit. She was known for being a woman who got things done, stood firm in what she believed, and faced life’s challenges with courage. She was a fighter who never allowed a bad day to break her spirit. Through every season of life, she continued to push forward with strength, faith, and resilience. To those she loved, Jacqueline was a caregiver in every sense of the word. She gave her time, her heart, and her support to her family and others who needed her. Her compassion and willingness to help were a true reflection of the love she carried inside. Jacqueline dedicated her life to serving her community. Through her work as a Home Healthcare Aide, she provided care and comfort to those in need. She also worked for a coach bus company, Digital Merchant Services in telemarketing, and served with the Park and Recreation Department, where she gave back to local youth and made a positive impact on her community. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord. Jacqueline ministered at Saint Joseph’s Nursing Home, bringing prayer, encouragement, and comfort to residents. She was licensed to preach by The Word of Truth Outreach Non-Denominational Church, Inc. in Bowman, South Carolina, and was ordained in 2012 at One Nation City of the Lord Praise Temple in Yonkers, New York. Jacqueline loved to sing and had a spirit that could brighten a room. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, love, and perseverance that will continue through everyone whose life she touched. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Clayton Edmonds, Chakayla Thompson Blount, Lukiea Thompson, Lukeen Thompson, and Shurrod Pugh Jr.; her siblings Laron Edmonds and Susan Porter; her grandchildren, great-grandchild, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, James L.B. Edmonds and Marion Francis Edmonds; her sister, Lillie Bell Edmonds Lofton; and her brother, Darrell Edmonds. Jacqueline’s life was a testimony of faith, strength, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, we celebrate a life well lived and a woman who fought every battle with courage and finished her journey with grace. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
