Lisa Mary Mager December 8, 1961 – February 21, 2026 Lisa Mary Mager, born Lisa Mary Matera, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 64 years old. Born on December 8, 1961, in Yonkers, New York, Lisa grew up in Yonkers and Mahopac before eventually settling in Hopewell Junction, New York, where she most recently resided. She carried her Italian New York roots with pride — strong, resilient, passionate, and fiercely devoted to family. Lisa was the beloved daughter of the late Marilyn Raimondi (2014) and Donato “Danny” Matera (2020). She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Michael Chianese (2000) and Matthew Mager (2021). Above all else, Lisa was a devoted mother and a proud Mimi — her most cherished title of all. She is survived by her loving daughters, Vanessa Romond (Jeffrey Romond) and Nicole Sudano (Christopher Sudano). Her grandchildren — Ella (13), Lily (10), Michael (6), and Holly (5) — were her greatest joy and the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Andrea Hammerling (Fred Hammerling) and Doreen Edwards; her brother-in-law John Chianese (Sandra Chianese); her sisters-in-law Theresa Hoppe (Robert Hoppe), Gina Pitruzello (Vincent Pitruzello), Lynette Burns (Thomas Burns), Marianne Tantillo, and Silvia Mager; and her brother-in-law Robert Ianuale. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Lucy Ianuale, her brother-in-law Frank Mager, and her brother-in-law Vincent Chianese. Lisa is lovingly remembered by her endless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who became family. Lisa dedicated her career to making others feel beautiful and confident as a talented hairdresser at TNG in Shrub Oak, New York. To her clients, she was more than a stylist — she was a listener, a confidante, and a friend. She had a gift not only for beauty, but for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. She loved music and dancing, gardening, the beach, and gathering the people she loved around her. Her home and heart were always open. Lisa lived her life with strength, beauty, and a selfless spirit that made everyone around her feel like family. She faced breast cancer with remarkable courage and grace, fighting with everything she had while never allowing it to define her. Through every challenge, she showed resilience, dignity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, her non-judgmental heart, her fierce loyalty, and the way she always showed up for others. Lisa’s love lives on in the music we play, the gardens we grow, and the way we hold one another close. Wake services will be held Sunday, March 1, from 12–3 p.m. and 4–7 p.m. at Dwyer & Michael’s Funeral Home in Tarrytown, New York. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Paul II at 10am at Immaculate Conception, in Sleepy Hollow, New York on Monday, March 2, followed by a luncheon at JP Doyle's, also in Sleepy Hollow.
