Catherine T. Morrison

Catherine T. (Quick) Morrison of Irvington, NY passed away on August 25,2021 at the age of 92 peacefully at home after a long illness. Catherine was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Catherine was born to George and Florence (Reardon) Quick in Dobbs Ferry Hospital. She was raised in Ardsley then Dobbs Ferry where she attended school. She went to work in Irvington at The Trent Building where she met her future husband Douglas Morrison. They married on October 2,1954 at Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry. They lived and raised their family in Irvington. Catherine also worked at the Dobbs Ferry A&P as Westchester County’s first female butcher’s assistant in the 1950’s then from 1977 until she retired in 1990 at The Swedish Gourmet Bakery in the Tarrytown Bridge Plaza. Catherine enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, using her clothesline, sending greeting cards for all occasions, comparative grocery shopping, looking out onto the Hudson River from her kitchen, and watching mens/womans college/professional basketball, in particular the Knicks. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband Douglas, her parents, her siblings; Florence, John, Tom, and Betty. She is survived by her son John (Carol) of Galloway, Ohio; her daughter Alice (Ron) Wester, Ledyard, CT:granddaughter Sarah (John) Lazzarro and family of Ledyard, CT; and grandson Eric (Meredith)and family of Glastonbury, CT ; siblings Dorothy McAllister Mason of Southern Pines, NC; George Quick of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are entrusted to Dwyer & Michael’s Funeral Home 90 N. Broadway Tarrytown N.Y. 10591. A visitation will be held on Thursday September 2nd from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 3rd at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Irvington at 10am. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corps at 80 Main St., Irvington, NY 10533 or Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N,.
